Rock It Or Wreck It?

Rock It Or Wreck It?
Kim Kardashian's Bangs!

Looking stunning as always Kim Kardashian graces the cover of April 2013 Cosmopolitan (prior baby bump) rockin' some bangs!

Hairstylist Chris McMillan said he cut them on set the day of her cover shoot... Ummm.....

She struck me a little more high maintenance than giving someone carte blanche with her hair. But then again she was in the hands of   veteran hairstylist nicknamed the "Mane Man"!

Some Girls Have All The Luck!

Anyhow... Are Bangs Back? Or Should They Be Left To The Insanely Gorgeous?

Would You Rock Em or Wreck Em?

SOUND OFF!

New Wet & Wild Palettes! Swatches & 1st Impressions!

Talk about a Stoke of Beauty Luck!

I went to pick up a few beauty basics this morning at Harmon Discount. (Click Here for a Harmon in your area). Now I will be honest I'm never NOT looking for makeup... If there is a makeup section in any store I feel obligated to browse it!
As I was perusing the new product displays section I spotted some Wet n Wild cosmetics I hadn't seen before. I had to do a double actually because it has been quite a while since I had seen ANY new 8 pan palettes from the bargain brand!
There were 2 palette choices - Going In The Wild & Nude Awakening, and for $4.49 I got them both.

I was so excited I couldn't wait to get home and get some swatches going for you guys!

So let's start with taking a basic look & then I'll give you some of my first impressions on my novel purchases!

General 1st Impressions
The shadows are classic Wet n Wild quality.
Velvety smooth, uber pigmented & really easy to blend!

They are a bit powdery so make sure to tap off excess if applying with a brush.

The colors for the browbone are very light & less pigmented than the others... but then again those are meant as highlighters.

Going In The Wild 1st Impressions
I found that in the Going In The Wild palette I liked only a few colors. I wasn't a big fan of the left column of shadows. They just didn't pack much of a punch.

I had high hopes for the purple but was disappointed when I realized it was more of a washed out hue than the bright lilac I was had wished for.

I was however pleasantly surprise with the pastel green! I think it will look uh-maze-iiing on the lower lash line to add a pop of bright color.

Nude Awakenings 1st Impressions
Of the two palettes I preferred this one the most as I fell in love with every color I swatched! The pigmentation is simply amazing & with the neutral colors you could go day to night in a few sweeps!

But here is my favorite part....
This palette had a few shades that were very very (very) similar to colors in the UD's Naked & Naked 2 Palettes.

Perfect if you are really craving the Urban Decay palettes but just cannot dish out $50 for each.... or you just would rather score a bargain!

Left Column Of Shadows in Nude Awakenings

Matching Naked Shades
Foxy, Suspect, Buck & Snakebite
Foxy & Snake are from the original Naked Palette while Suspect & Buck are from Naked 2

Right Column Of Shadows in Nude Awakenings

Matching Naked Shades
Urban Decay's Toasted, Busted, Gunmetal & Creep
Toasted, Gunmetal & Creep are from the original Naked Palette while Busted is from Naked 2

So there you have it ladies...
Wet N Wild Color Icon Nude Awakenings & Going With The Wild 8 Pan Palettes!

Beauty Tips & Tricks! Tremendous Toner!

Don't underestimate the power of your toner!

Store it in the fridge & use it in the morning to wake up your complexion without strippingit of the essential oils and nutrients it has produced in your beauty sleep!

Use this as your morning routine no matter what kind of skin you have to give your complexion a break from all the scrubbing & treating....

It may seem like it's not enough but over-cleansing your skin may due more damage than you think! This is the perfect product to give your skin some TLC in the form of a break :)
And tho the warm weather may seem forever away putting your toner in a spray bottle and storing it in the fridge could be the perfect cooling off/refresher your face is begging for!

My go to toner is (& has been for years) Thayers Rose Petal Witch Hazel. This is an alchol-free toner with Vitamin E & Aloe Vera. It will cost you between $7-$10. It's gentle, moisturizing, refreshing & it smells heavenly. This is a natural scent that is not overwhelming BUT If you aren't a fan of the smell of roses Thayer does offer this product in cucumber, lemon, peach or unscented fragrances.... of course all are natural so you cannot go wrong!

You can find this at Stop & Shop (Those that have organic sections), health food stores & the Vitamin Shoppe. Online it can be found at drugstore.com or vitacost.com
If you live abroad this is available on www.thayers.com & amazon.com.
