Top Ten Under $10 (Lips)

Top Ten Under $10! (Lips)

It's time for some Lip Lovin'. Wait that sounds weird....

Get out your $10 & Pucker Up Dolls we are off to hunt for a bargain!
1. Revlon Color Stay Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain $8.99
These bad boys are identical to Tarte's LipSurgence Lip Tints! That is identical aside from the price! Tarte product comes in at $24 while their drugstore dupe is $8.99. These Revlon stains  have a light mint smell which also makes them refreshing & keep your pucker moist! They aren't super pigmented, but more of a tint, which I like because it's more natural. Be aware that the color on these balms is not long lasting so they will need re-application... fun & face none the less!

2. NYX Round Case Lipstick $3.99
For the price I don't think there is better quality - I find these to be better than MAC lipsticks, as they are smoother & creamier. I'm a big fan of variety and NYX has from subtle tints to major pop of colors. I also love that if you are into nudes they have a million shades of nudes... into reds? pinks? corals?? Same thing - they have so many options for each color, finish & preference! They are also starting to become more readily available at stores. In my area you can find them at Ulta, Harmon Discount, Sears & Afaze.

3. jordana INCOLOR Squeeze n Shine Super Shiny Tasty Lip Gloss $1.99

Talk about a drugstore darling - I found these bad boys by accident while persusin the drugstore! They are a super gloss! They do take re-application but I don't mind since the result is so FAB! Not sticky & super shiny. They are also unscented.... beware though if you are not into shimmer these are not for you - the colored glosses have a lot of glitter in them... The applcator dispenses a TON of gloss so my tip for ya is to dot some product in the center of your lip then spread with your finger.

4.  L'Oreal Colour Riche LeGloss Lip Gloss $7.99
These glosses are gorgeous go-tos! These glosses have a bunch of regular colors that are always available & seasonally L'Oreal cranks out some limited edition shades.

5. Revlon Color Burst Lip Butter $7.49 &
I luv these suckers! I love the moisture, colors & the dessert names! Though I did purchase some of the darker tones (which look great) I do suggest that you use the lighter shades if you are not willing to sporadically re-apply as they tend to fae quickly! These are perfect for people who don't like lipstick but want to have a hint of tint!

6. L'Oreal Colour Riche Lip Balm $7.99
More lip butters! These, however, are a bit different than the Revlon ones. Color & shine are not as intense, these are more like colored lip balms... comparable to Maybelline Baby Lips. While the Revlon ones pack some punch these are more "light" & delicate.... think "Oh  just ate some strawberries and my lips have been touched with the tint of the sweet fruit!" lol too much huh?

7. EOS Lip Balm $3.29

Little Balls of love! There isn't a single time I take one of these out of my purse that someone doesn't look at me and asks "what's that???" Aside from being intriguing, these balms are actually affective & yummy - be careful though having all the flavor and types will become an addiction!

8. Revlon Super Lustrous™ Lipstick & Lip Gloss.
Starting at $6.99

I've raved about Revlons lipsticks and lipglosses on my blog before & I still believe they are the best bang for the buck at the drugstore - lots of different finishes & endless amounts of colors!

9.C.O. Bigelow Mentha Supreme 2X Lip Shine $8.00
The only thing that sucks about this gloss is that it's a one of a kind... not a line... I love the way it smells, tastes & looks! It's sorta like eating a breath mint too!

10. Lip Smackers $1.75
People always laugh at me when they see me with Lip Smakers - but WTF this was the IT thing to have in middle school & I still can't find a better combo of price, quality& yummy taste!

I Dollz have been growing my nails & sporting a rather prudish version of this style with more rounded tips!

Worth trying but only if you religiously paint your nails! This look does not mesh with natural nails… Looks a little Icky kinda like really old Woman Hands!

Monday Must Have! Monthly Edition!

Hola Dolls!

Happy Monday...

I know no such a thing exists but lets just try & get through it!

Here are my monthly favorites for September!

JOE Color Cream Blush in Apricot
I got this bad boy from a makeup swap with Kate of Kate's Beauty Blog! I plan to write all about our swap but in the meantime check out her post on our exchange here, here & here!  Kate lives in Canada & I have no been able to find this product in the States. A comparable product can be Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush in Peach Satin. It is a very light tint of peach. I use this as my base for a matching powder blush to have my cheek color last all day!

Milani Blush in Luminoso
Available @ Drugstore $7.49

I fell in love with this blush this month... despite the fact that I've had it for longer than I'd like to admit! So I guess we could call it long-lost love! This is what I pared with the JOE Cream Blush. It gives you such a glow... peach with a tint of gold but nothing overtly shimmery! Plus you get a ton of product for the price - that's a no brainer!

Sonia Kashuk Core Tools Brow Brush
Available @ Target $5.99
Love this little sucker! The bristles are corse & very firm, so not only does it place the product but it also does a great job blending in powder, wax & eyebrow pencils. It doesn't leave any harsh application lines & since it can spread the product throughout your brows it actually helps having a little go a long way.

e.l.f. Studio Eyebrow Kit in Medium
Available @ Target or eyeslipsface.com $3.00
This product is the proof that you don't have to spend a load of cash for good products! This itty bitty kit, available in 4 shades, comes with an eyebrow wax & one eyebrow powder. I have dark brown/soft black eyebrows, and only need minimal filling, so I don't know how this would fare for someone with thin or sparse eyebrows. I use the sonia kashuk brow brush that I mentioned before to first apply some of the wax and then to add a little powder. Soften the fill by blending with a brow brush & you are good to go!

Maybelline Illuminator in Ray of Gold
(No Longer Available)
I hate writing about products that aren't available anymore! I don't like telling you guys about a product I love & then tell you "Hey You Can't Buy It!"
I did see a few left over from the Summer at Rite Aid, so give a peek at your local drugstore to see if they might have a few left over.
A comparable product at a drugstore price would be e.l.f. Studio Blush in Gotta Glow. It'svery close in pigment, & at $3 it's also good for your wallet!

Sephora Nano Eyeliner in 03 pure white
Available @ Sephora $5.00
I adore adding white eyeliner on my waterline. It makes my eyes look wider & makes me look less tired! I think i've bought hundred of white pencils trying to find the perfect one. This little baby delivers HUGE resulst!Glides in the water line, great color payoff & isn't half bad either!

Sephora Smoky Kohl
Available @ Sephora On Sale For $3.00

Kohl is one of the most old school cosmetics... and when I say old school I'm talking ancient time here dolls! Look at a portairt of Cleopatra. She was the it trendsetter of her time! I mean hello can you say cat eye liner centuries ahead of her time! What our glam gal Cleo was rocking was Kohl. Now all that good history aside, I really like wearing Kohl on my waterline. It leaves a light tint on the lower lashes that is the most delicate smokey eye., makes your eyes look like they are perfectly framed by natural tint.

Tarte Lipsurgence Natural Lip Luster in Adored
Available @ Ulta, Sephora & tartecosmetics.com $24.00
I bought this around April/May didn't get around to trying until September. I love the formula of this product! It's moisturizing & leaves the most incredible shine on your pout. After this one I purchased two more Lipsurgence, one matte & one luster. Adore both! They also have a great peppermint scent that makes your lips feel refreshed.

Sephora Collection Super Nourishing Lip Balm
Available @ Sephora $5.00
I had always denied my lips the compulsive treatment I offered my skin. At the beginning of August I was plagued with severely dry lips. I couldn't do anything to get them plump & moisturized. I used this Lip Balm in combination with a lip scrub &a nighttime lip treatment & Voila! Back to my perfect pout! Now I use it as the base for my lipstick. Makes for smoother application & Results!

Skindinavia Makeup Finishing Spray
Available at Skindinavia.com
Full Size Start at $19.00
I heard of Skindinavia from one of Goss Makeup Artist's You Tube video. Of course I couldn't resist a recommendation by this brilliant brit so I rushed over to the Skindaniavia's website & ordered one of their sprays! Along with a full-size 8oz bottle I received a travel size sample. I started with the sample size as it was easy to carry in my makeup bag for applying on my mug makeup @ work. Let me tell you this stuff was great! It totally prolonged the life of my makeup on some unbearably muggy/humid days - Definitely going to reccomend & repurchase!

Lush’s Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner
Available at Lush & Lushusa.com $29.95

My younger sister told me about this product before the summer. She is a big fan of Lush, as they have been available in Europe (where she lived) for years! She had let me try a bit and OMG! The smell alone had me sold~ Like a fresh bouquet of roses... so yummy! What this is is a body conditioner, like the kind for your hair but for your bodascious bod! At the end of your shower, turn off the water, & slather the pink goo all over. Let it sit for a minute, rise off & pat dry. It's super hydrating - perfect with people who's skin gets dry in the color months! You must try this... You will thank me for it!
Body Shop Shea Butter (Body Butter)
Available @ The Body Shop & Sephora $19.00
If you are a regular reader of my blog you know I have talked about how sensitive my skin is. I have to be very careful of what I put on it to avoid rashes, hives or scratching fits. In combination with the Ro's Argan Body Conditioner this has left my skin supple all month. I've repurchased this already also (as I blew through one tub in 30 days) & I am planning to use it throughout the fall/winter as my skin tends to be more dry & sensitive as the weather gets colder!

Burt’s Bees Baby Bee Multipurpose Ointment
Available @ Burtsbees.com & Walmart $19.00
This stuff is the anti-vaseline vaseline - has no petroleum. It's actually a baby product... hey if it's good enough for a baby it's good enough for me!
.The tub is a large decent size. I've been using it every other day & i'm barely 1/3 through the container. I slather this on my feet at night & then throw on some socks. My feet feels heavenly smooth in the am! I also use this on my hands, cuticles, elbows & knees... anywhere I want baby smooth skin! Get It?? Ha ha ha! Baby Product Baby Smooth Skin?? Ehh everyone's a critic!

equate Micro exfoliating Cleansing Cloths
Available @ Walmart $3.97
I was using Equate Original Clean Facial Cleansing Towelettes from January until July. I had heard that these wipes were great for eye make up as they didn't burn your eyes. They are large & have a quilted soft texture. I use one wipe for my whole face including my eyes. I also tried the Olay Regenerist Micro-Exfoliating Wet Cleansing Cloths "Brand" version of these wipes & I wasn't a big fan. The texture was rough & it burned my eyes when I used to them to remove my makeup. These cheaper alternatives are my new must have!

First Aid Beauty 5 in 1 Cream
Available @ Firstaidbeauty.com & Sephora $28.00
I'm a firm believer that preventing is easier than curing! I'm big on starting an anti-aging treatment as early as 25... which is when I began mine. Eye creams are crucial in the fight against aging as they deliver essential nutrients to this delicate area of skin. I always have trouble finding a good eye cream but this one blew my mind! I got a sample of it from Sephora and ran back to get the full-size! This bad boy smooths, firms, brightens, nourishes & soothes your under eye area keeping it luminous!

Soy Candle in Red Velvet Cupcake
Available @ Target Starting at $5.00
I wanted to throw a little something new in here! I got this candle from Target. I'm a relatively new fan of scented candles & my mom always tells me to get the soy candles since they contain less harmful chemicals. This candle is so yummy I'm almost sad I cannot eat it! Smells like just like red velvet cupcakes! It's pretty strong too - a little candle can really fill a whole room!

So my loves these are my September favorites! Forgive me for not posting for so long!

This blog & those of you that read it are really the thing that keeps me going & drives my passion! So don't be mad at me dolls!

The A-Team Mobile Unit!

Hello Dollz!

In order to make sure that I'm using and testing all the products I purchase, I pack a makeup bag every weekend to use all week at work. My everyday makeup routine, when it comes to my day job, pretty much stays the same all week. Now I'm a mobile girl - always in motion. I never put my makeup on at home in a crazy effort to get more sleep!

So Here What's Packed In The A-Team Mobile Unit AKA my makeup bag!

I've listed the products in the order in which I apply/use them - with all brushes & tools at the end!

Sorry This Is A Mouthful But Worth It!

Hard Candy Blotting Papers
($5 Available @ Walmart)
I haven’t tested a wide array of blotting papers so my comparison horizon is very small, but they do come in a bunch of different colors & suck up the grease from my face…. So as far as blotting papers go these get the job done.

Stila Stay All Day 10-In-1 HD Beauty Balm
($38 Available @ stilacosmetics.com, Sephora & Ulta)
Beauty bloggers were ranting & raving that this was hands down now of the best B.B. Cream out there... This one shade fits all balm definitely lives up to it's claims; It's long wearing, minimizes pores and helps reduce redness. I do one layer all over my mug and then I go with a second hand if there needs to be a little extra coverage. BUT it smells awful! Like warm plastic & wax. When you put it on your face it smells but as it dries the smell goes away... but it has still managed to stink up my whole makeup bag!

Sheer Cover Duo Concealer in Light/Medium
(Full Kit Starts at $29 Available @  sheercover.com)
I got this in a sample program I receive (more on this to come) and I really really like it! It’s very creamy and applies well. However Do not apply to this your eyelids as it does crease!

Laura Geller Crease-Less Concealer
($25 Available @ .laurageller.com & QVC)
I use this bad boy on top of the sheer cover. Clearly I have some major under-eye issues! I also use this on my lids, since as it's name points out, it doesn't crease. It brightens the area and highlights my eyes. Definitely recommend this - I've already repurchased it!

i.d. BareMinerals Eye Brightener in Well Rested
  ($18 Available @ Sephora & bareescentuals.com)
This is my little secret weapon. It’s a constant repurchase & it last a while! I use this powder on my under eye circles after my concealer & it brings my eyes to life.

Rimmel London Stay Matte Pressed Powder in Buff Beige

($4.99 Available @ Drugstores)
I like this very much…. It may too light for my skin tone so I will purchase a darker shade. The combo of this and a BB Cream did a great job on coverage that was decent but didn’t feel heavy. So it's a winner in my book!

bareMinerals All Over Face Color in Faux Tan
  ($19 Available @ Sephora & bareescentuals.com)
I got this when I was on the search for bareMinerals All Over Face Color in Warmth… Sephora had sold out & this is what they had. It was a blind buy that turned out to be a perfect purchase! My only gripe with this as it is with most BareMinerals products is packaging! The little salt shaker thingy they have is useless to me… I don’t know how to use it & it doesn’t work anyway! It’s like Russian Roulette… you never know which time you will open the little jar that for some unexplainable reason the powder will come BURSTING out!  All over your hands, clothes and surfaces! If you drop this or spill it on the rug or carpet forget about cleaning it up. It will never happen! Learn to live with the S&%t like stain that is left over as a reminder to be more careful!

bareMinerals READY Blush in The French Kiss
($22 Available @ bareMinerals)
Got this a while back & just got around to testing it out. It's SUPER pigmented so when applying tap brush on the color, then tap to get rid of excess. This blush is available in 9 other shades…. The colors aren’t anything spectacular – names are cute but I’m not gonna wear the name on my face ya know! It’s got a long-wearing formula that supposed to last 8 hours. It does stay pretty true to application for a good 8 hours – but that’s 8 hours sitting in a office mind you!

Milani Illuminating Face Powder in Beauty's Touch
(Starting at $9 Available @ Drugstores)
I bought this for my beauty Bonding BFF Kate of Kate' Beauty Blog (Here). Finally I purchased one for myself. I use this as a highlight/second coat to my blush. It lights me up & so far so good. I'm going to purchase Amber Nectar as I'm looking for more of a highlighter - but this can defentely be build able as Blush.... or over your blush which is like how I use.

CoverGirl Professional Natural Lash Mascara in Clear
($5 Available @ Drugstores)
This is a holy grail product for me. I’ve been purchasing it as long as I’ve been wearing makeup. I’m blessed with Full Brows. It took me a few go’s to love them but I eventually embraced them. But thick or thin my eyebrows have ALWAYS been unruly! This clear mascara doesn’t clump or dry white & keep my burly brows in place!

Too Faced Perfect Eyes Waterproof Eyeliner in Perfect Black
($18 Available @ toofaced.com, Sephora & Ulta)
Got this with Too Faced’s Return of Sexy Eye Shadow Palette (Check Out My Review Here) it’s jet black, shiny and soft! It’s waterproof. Im always looking for a long lasting waterline eyeliner & I think this one really hits the spot. I put it on at 7:30am and don’t have to re-apply until 6 hours or so have passed.

Sephora Collection Eyelash Curler in Silver/Black
(No Longer Available)
Not much to say about this... Was it worth the price? Not really. You could buy one at the drugstore & be just as well off. Sorry Sephora!

Sephora 'Tricks of the Trade' Perfecting Lash Primer

($5 Available @ Sephora.com)
In my search for the perfect Lash Primer I got this puppy for 5 bucks on Sephora.com. It's not as amazing as my Urban Decay lash primer but for the price it delivers well! (Click Here To See Urban Decay Lash Primer Post). Application: One or two layers of primer, wait 15 seconds & start with your coats of fave mascara. DO NOT LET IT DRY before putting on your mascara - it will be more difficult to cover!

*The 3 Following Mascaras All Came With The Sephora Brand The Lash Stash Kit That's No Longer Available*

Too Faced Lashgasm Mascara
(Full Size $21 Available @ toofaced.com, Sephora & Ulta)

This mascara has me perplexed. I love everything Too Faced but I'm the fence on this one. It has a rubber wand which I love - but the formula seems a little dry during & After application & you can tell when you have it on. I'm going to keep using it & update you dolls when I have finally come to a verdict on this mascara!

Urban Decay Supercurl Curling Mascara

(Full Size $20 Available @ urbandecay.com, Sephora & Ulta)
Now with this mascara I had a TON of expectations - Urban Decay has so many top notch products I thought this would be outta the park.... But it was not. The rubber & curled wand is great & it gets every lash, but halfway through the day I started seeing little pieces of the mascara under my eyes... BIG NO NO. Tried it on consecutive days & every single day the dried brittle tid  bits would end up on my face... Big Thumbs Down Sorry! Sephora Collection Advanced Lash Booster Mascara
($12 Available @ Sephora)
I’m not impressed. It’s a fine mascara but not my bag! I got this in the Lash Stash but I certainly would not purchase it separately for $12. It’s described by Sephora.Com as “An advanced mascara, scientifically proven to enhance four lash characteristics: length, thickness, fullness, and strength” – ummm it does what every other single mascara on the planet claims to do but you just plopped Advanced right at the beginning & made it twice as expensive. I will continue using it since I have it and can’t really complain about the mediocre job it does… it’s just average. The wand and formula are really like any other drugstore mascara you would buy– AGAIN don’t get me wrong it’s a fine mascara… but I don’t want to pay $12 for fine when I can get fantastic for under $6 with L'Oreal Paris Voluminous Mascara. Gosh now I feel like I was too harsh…. Oh well tough S*&t – get over it!

L'oreal Colour Riche Balm SPF15 Rose Elixir
($7.99 Available @ Drugstores)
I’m obsessed with Lip Butters. I like the color coverage, the consistency and the wear. Plus they leave my lips so moisturised!
I have purchase 4 other colors of this Balm, so clearly I'm all about it. They have light to medium depth so don't purchase if you are looking for a full on lip tint.

Sigma Flat Kabuki F80
($16 Available @ sigmabeauty.com
Everyone was raving about this brush so I gave in and ordered it to see what all the hype was about! So far it's been good - I use it to stipple in my B.B. Cream & it makes my coverage flawless.

e.l.f. Studio Blush Brush
($3 Available @ Target & eyeslipsface.com)
I got this brush durinf g a %0% off Online Sale @ e.l.f – paid 1.50 for it. I use this to put i.d. BareMinerals Eye Brightener in Well Rested over my concelear on my undereyes. It’s picks up & distributed perfectly as it has a small head of hair!

Ecotools Bamboo Bronzer Brush

($7.59 Available @ Drugstores & Walmart)
I love my Ecotool brushes! The are leaps & bounds the BEST drugstore brushes. I use this humongous bad boy to bring some color to my mug with bronzer.  What else can I say? It's fluffy & lovely... & who doesn't love fluffy!

Sephora Professional Platinum Blush Brush #49

(No Longer Available)
This is a good blush brush and one that you can tell will stand the test of time – I don’t generally carry my nicest brushes with me, but I haven’t found a brush that’s comparable to this one for a cheaper price. This is discontinued but you can find this similar one from the Sephora Collection the I.T. Angeled Synthetic Blush Brush for $35 which is around what I paid for mine… but at least this one is PINK!

e.l.f. Studio Powder Brush
($3 Available @ Target & eyeslipsface.com)
I think I write about this block almost every post I do! It’s my cheapest/most multiuse brush!

There is it Dollz!

So What's In Your Makeup Bag/Mobile Unit?
Godspeed & Much Love!
Aly

Disclaimer: yeah yeah I bought all this stuff!
